The mission of CAAI is to prevent as much of the suffering of as many animals as possible by influencing the introduction of systemic social change. CAAI informs in order to change societal attitudes and the way people perceive and treat animals in their daily lives. The organisation focuses its campaigns on factory farming as the area that affects the welfare of the most animals in the most significant way.

At the national level CAAI is the initiator and organizer of The National Citizens’ Initiative to Ban Mining fur in Bulgaria, as well as the campaigns “Wings spread” и “Stop the Cuddling“. The organization also actively supports and participates in international initiatives for the benefit of animals. It is a member of Eurogroup for Animals, Fur Free Alliance, Open Wing Alliance и European Citizens’ Initiative “End the Cages” and is therepresentative for Bulgaria of the international programme Fur Free Retailer (“Trader without fur“).
